West Birch

West Birch is the street I grew up on in Victor, Idaho and where the woodshop is located. It is a place that in many ways has shaped my pursuits and passions. This valley has provided the space, environment, and time to refine many of my crafts like skiing and woodworking. It feels only right to honor the place that made me who I am today. Welcome to the West Birch Studio Family.

  • Beliefs & Process

I am someone who has always been drawn to the creative, the emotion evoking, the eclectic, and the aspects of life that feel true to the human experience. When choosing between kiln dried or green wood, hard wood or soft wood, live edged or milled, it is my goal to produce work that fosters the same emotional pull. I am here to create pieces that I want to see in the world. It is my hope that they find people who see the same value in them as I do.

  • Sustainability

Throughout this evolving process I am constantly searching for creative ways to make things more ethical and sustainable. As of now, I am taking all of the wood shavings to our neighborhood chickens to serve as floor cover in their coop. It is my goal for the future to include shavings as an alternative to packing peanuts in the shipping process. I will continue to search for ways to make as small of a footprint as possible as I grow.

  • Do not store liquids for extended periods of time
  • Do not use for foods or substances that are known to stain or discolor like beets, wine, citrus or soy sauce
